Status notifications on a profile
Active / Registered
The registrant's profile and registration are in good standing with no current restrictions, concerns, or investigations.
Temporarily suspended /
Interim suspension
Interim suspension
The registrant is currently under investigation without prejudice. To protect the registrant, staff, patients, the public and employers, an interim suspension has been applied.
An interim or temporary suspension is not an indication of fault on the part of the registrant. Employers and service users will need to request further information directly from the registrant.
Probation
A panel will have determined that the individual is considered fit to practise, although a level of concern remains that needs to be highlighted. Their registration is on a probationary term. Employers should discuss the presence of "Probation" on a registrant's profile and make their own determinations before employment or deployment.
Suspended
The registrant has breached HPAC’s Terms and Conditions of registration or Code of Conduct, or the outcome of an investigation or referral has led to a suspension order being applied.
Removed from Register
Permanent removal from the register due to a serious breach of HPAC’s Terms and Conditions or Code of Conduct, or as the outcome of a Fitness to Practise investigation which concluded that the individual is believed to be either unsuitable to practise as a clinician or is unsuitable to remain registered with HPAC.
Application Rejected
This status records HPAC’s decision to refuse an application for registration where HPAC has determined that the applicant committed a serious breach of HPAC’s Terms and Conditions or Code of Conduct during the application process. Conduct capable of meeting this threshold includes, but is not limited to: the submission of information or documentation determined by HPAC to be false, misleading or not genuine; dishonesty in the applicant’s dealings with HPAC; threatening, abusive, aggressive or otherwise seriously inappropriate conduct during the application process; or refusal to comply with the requirements of registration to a degree giving rise to significant concern. In any individual case, the status indicates that such a determination was made; it does not identify the ground or grounds on which it was based.
Most refused applications are not published. An "Application Rejected" status is recorded and displayed only where HPAC has determined that a defined threshold of concern has been met and that publication is necessary and proportionate to public interest.
